Dungeon Crawler Carl: A Book Review

I’ve heard about the book DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL for several years. I finally decided to give it a shot.

While I’m glad I did, I will not be reading the rest of the series. I found the first book of the series was nothing but a version of THE HUNGER GAMES for boys who like gross things. And since boys can get really gross, I am assuming the series (which is much longer than THE HUNGER GAMES) is made up primarily of super disgusting creatures and situations.

Several weeks after I floated my HUNGER GAMES theory to my son-in-law, I read in another author’s newsletter that she was reading DUNGEON CRAWLER, she liked it, and she, too compared it to THE HUNGER GAMES.

Life is disgusting enough, and I prefer to focus on joy. The pleasant.

Okay, maybe the story is important by showing there is always a solution to a problem and to use what you have to overcome adversity, but it simply didn’t appeal to me.
