My Urban Meadow

My friends and I have started texting a photo of a flower to each other every (most) day(s). I discovered I have a lot of blossoms in my yard. I’ve identified them all using the iNaturalist app, which is a freebie that connects to scientists. I just can’t figure out how to upload my photos to their data base. 😎

Most of my flowers are wildflowers. In a neighborhood where people put weed killers and other chemicals on their lawns, my bit of property is like a meadow in the middle of the city. I feel blessed by nature.

(More text below photos)

Hairy Bittercress
Ground Ivy
Dicots
Common Mouse Ear
Dandelion
Black Medick
Wood Sorrels
White Violets
Slender Speedwell
Red Deadnettle
Purple Violets
Lawn Daisies
Mock Strawberry

We don’t have to send photos of actual flowers–that can be challenging–so a greeting card, vase, book cover, article of clothing, painting: we’ll accept them all. The point is to brighten each other’s day with a bouquet of happiness.

I love sharing my urban meadow. And now I’ve shared it with you!
