Thanksgiving Gratitudes

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the US, I thought I’d share some of the entries from my Gratitude pages in my planner.

  • Being retired from a day job so I can be available when family members need me.
  • My health. I see so many people beset by illness, and I am overall healthy.
  • Living in Upstate New York because it’s only snow compared to wildfires, mudslides, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes…it’s only snow.
  • Being able to go on writing retreats with colleagues.
  • Being safe and snug when the weather is nasty. I love looking outside at bad weather when I’m dry and warm.
  • Like-minded friends to do things with.
  • My husband’s sense of humor. We laugh at the same things
  • My doctor and his staff. They are warm and caring.
  • My husband taking care of me when I’m under the weather. He brings home chicken soup!
  • Blank spaces on my calendar that give me time to muse.
  • Staying open minded, which keeps me open to new experiences.
  • The woman who was my mother’s companion the last months of her life. She truly is an angel.
  • Having four library cards. If what I want isn’t at one place, it’s likely to be in another.
  • Finding a place near me that offers a wide variety of classes at affordable prices.
  • Date nights with my husband.

And this is only part of January and February. I live a blessed life and for that, I am thankful.
